Okay, so this week our math problem was 201.6 divided by 48. How would you like to solve this problem? Pause the podcast, solve it however you'd like, and then come on back. The problem is 201.6 divided by 48.

Mmhm. I'm thinking.

I think I know... I haven't solved it completely, but I think I know what I'm going to do.

I'm still thinking. You go ahead, and then I'll finish what I was doing.

So, I, when to think about equivalent ratio. So, I wrote 201.6 divided by 48, like with a fraction bar. And so then I'm going to call that equivalent to 100.8 divided by 24.

Mmhm. That doesn't make me feel all that excited, so I'm going to go... Ooh. Well, I'll keep going.

So then I'm going to write 50.4 divided by 12. And at that point, then I'm going to think about splitting the 50.4, 48 divided by 12, and 2.4 divided by 12.

Yeah.

So, I know 48 divided by 12 is 4. And then I know 24 divided by 12 would be 2. So, 2.4 divided by 12 is going to be 0.2. So, I'm going to get 4.2.

Or 4 and 2/10.

Nice. Yeah. So, I was also thinking equivalent ratio.

Okay.

But I actually scaled up. So, from 201.6 divided by 48, I got 2016 divided by 480. And then I cut them in half. So, I got 1,008 divided by 240. Then I got 252. Then I divided by 4 to get 252 divided by 60. And that's where then you started solving. So, now I'm wondering. Divided by 60. I think I'm going to do what you just did where I'm going to think about 240 divided by 60, and then what's left over is 12 divided by 60.

So, 240 divided by 60 is 4. And 12 divided by 60 is that... Is it 0.2? Now how am I thinking about that? Yeah, because I can see the 5 in the 60, so it's 0.2.

So, it's like a fifth, which is equivalent to...
